About Counterframe

I’m Jason Rink, a commercial producer and documentary filmmaker. These days I make AI content, and Counterframe is where I report on that shift from the inside.

In January 2021, I was banned from Twitter and Facebook after posting the trailer for my documentary American Shaman. My Twitter account was restored after Elon Musk bought the platform and renamed it X, and you can find me there at @JasonRink (https://x.com/JasonRink). Facebook never reinstated me. That experience taught me how much the framing of a story matters, and that whoever controls the frame shapes what millions of people believe.

The tools for building that frame just changed. Anyone with a laptop can now make film-quality video, a fake painting with a fake backstory, or a campaign ad nobody ever shot. Some of it is art. Some of it is propaganda. Most of it lands somewhere in between.
